The goal of this game is to inform and inspire players about the amazing cosmic objects in our universe and what Roman (Grace Roman Space Telescope) may be able to see in a fun and engaging way.
The game gives you a minute to catch as many objects in space as possible. Players get points for capturing rogue exoplanets, black holes, and galaxies. Roman Space Observer offers a retro 8-bit style, like “Space Invaders”. A game cherished by an entire generation of computers and gaming lovers.
The Nancy Grace Roman Space Telescope is a next-generation observatory that will peer through the dust and across vast stretches of space and time to survey the infrared universe.
The agency says the Roman space telescope will be “Hubble’s wide-eyed cousin,” capturing 100 times as much of the sky as the 1990 telescope with the help of massive 300-megapixel hardware.
Compared with the mission it promotes, this 8-bit style game is quite simple. And it is all it needs to be to get young generations interested in the future of science.
